Step 1: Click the settings menu, then select Payroll Integrations, and then Accounting. You will then select "Connect to Xero." You will be asked to log into your Xero account.
Step 2: Once the connection has been authenticated, click the "Refresh Accounts" button to pull in your Xero Chart of Accounts.
Step 3: Choose whether you would like payroll to sync automatically (recommended) and if the data should come over in detail (recommended) or summary. If the information is selected to come over in detail then you will see the transactions broken out per employee Then click on the empty boxes next to the payroll items to map the item to your chart of accounts. Please keep in mind all items must be mapped for the data to flow over properly to Xero. Please see the example mapping below
Step 4: To export a previously ran payroll, navigate to the "Pay Run Exports" section. Then locate the pay date you would like to send over to Xero and click the "Export" button. You will receive a confirmation that the data has successfully synced with Xero.
Step 5: To view your data in Xero, navigate to the Dashboard. You will see the payroll items under "Bills you need to pay." To approve these transactions, click on "Draft bills" then check mark the items and hit approve.
