For New Indiana Businesses:
Please follow the steps below to register your business with the Indiana Department of Revenue and Department of Workforce Development. Unless these steps are followed in their entirety, OnPay will be unable to file and pay your Indiana Department of Revenue taxes.
Indiana Income tax withholding
New employers can register with the Department of Revenue online using their INBiz account.
- Visit the INBiz website here.
- At the bottom of the page click Register Now
- Follow the instructions online to get your business registered for a Indiana Withholding Account.
- You should receive your Withholding Account number in about 2-3 days by email.
Indiana Unemployment tax
New employers can register with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development by doing the following:
- Visit the Indiana Department of Workforce Development website here
- Click New User?
- Select Employer on the next screen,
- Enter your Business' information and follow the prompts.
- You should receive your SUTA account number immediately after completing the online registration.
SUTA Rate:
Your Indiana Premium Rate appears in the "Total Premium" box of the SUTA notice that you receive from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
- New employers generally have rates that range from 2.5%–5.23%.
For Existing Indiana Businesses:
If you already have access to the Indiana Department of Revenue and Department of Workforce Development websites, and have your tax ID numbers, please STOP, and simply provide us with the data requested in the "Give us your Info" section of the Minnesota Tax document. If you have access to the Indiana websites but do not have your tax IDs, please log into the appropriate Indiana account and apply for access to an ID. - Existing businesses can find their TID on notices that you have received from the Indiana Department of Revenue
SUTA Rate:
Your Indiana Premium Rate appears in the "Total Premium" box of the SUTA notice that you receive from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
- SUTA rates range from 0.5%–7.4% with a wage base of $9,500.
